We are proud to announce that the Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition
Program (SFMNP) is available in all 67 counties this year. The Farmers
Market Authority (FMA) contracts with Area Agencies on Aging through the
Alabama Department of Senior Services (ADSS) to issue benefits to
eligible seniors. For specific issuance information, please call
1-877-774-9519 or 1-800-243-5463. There is no application process;
individuals meeting the eligibility criteria below are qualified to
receive the benefits. However, no person is "entitled" to SFMNP checks;
as the budget does not allow enough checks to satisfy everyone who
wishes to receive them and is eligible. Issuance is on a first
come-first serve basis until a county's allotted books are issued.
Senior FMNP- Both criteria must be met in order to receive SFMNP
coupons.
1. Age - person must be 60 years of age or older on the day of issuance,
no one under age 60 is eligible.
2. Income level - household gross income must not exceed:
$18,200……for a household of ------1 ($1,517.00 monthly)
$24,500……for a household of ------2 ($2,042.00 monthly)
$30,800……for a household of ------3 ($2,567.00 monthly)
